Free Insights License Explained

Free Insights License Explained

Free Insights users have reporting access when it is enabled by an administrator, and can view dashboards and cards reporting on the activity of paid subscribers, even though their own Teams activity is not gathered. Choose the  Collaboration Analytics license for all users that need to be reported on.
In addition, free Insights users can manage licenses and permissions when given appropriate admin permissions.

Use Cases for the free Insights License
With reporting access enabled, this subscription is ideal for a  Managing Director  who would prefer that their own Teams activity is not included in reports, but would like to view the activity of others. It is also ideal for  training purposes , and for businesses who have launched Analytics 365 in one part of their organization, and would like to allow other groups of users to explore the app before purchasing additional licenses.

With reporting access disabled, it would suit an  IT administrator  who is solely responsible for managing settings and permissions.

All members of an organization who do not have a paid license are  automatically granted  the free Insights license and can access reporting (with appropriate permissions). When a user moves from a paid license to a free Insights license, the user will be able to access their own historical data.
